Template: patch test and hair removal plan
Preparation and contraindication check before hair removal
Use this template before you perform a new hair removal treatment — especially with light-based methods or customers you don't know in advance.
§Before you book the treatment
- 01Ask about skin type, hair colour, and hair thickness
- 02Disclose medication that may increase light sensitivity
- 03Ask about pregnancy if relevant for the chosen method
- 04Ask about previous reactions to hair removal or similar treatments
- 05Ask about recent sun exposure or sunbed in the treatment area
§Patch test
- 01Perform patch test at least 24-48 hours before dyeing or new products close to the eyes.
- 02Test the light-based method on a small, defined area and assess the reaction after 24-48 hours
- 03Note the test result in the customer's journal before proceeding
§Contraindication check
| Ratio | What you do |
|---|---|
| Open wound or infection in the area | Discontinue treatment until the skin is healed. |
| Medicine with light sensitivity | Assess whether the light-based method should be used at all |
| Uncertain skin change in the area | Do not treat — refer to doctor |
