Checklist: safe startup and stopping of machine
The fixed steps that make a system safe to work with
Stopping and securing a machine before you touch it is one of the most important routines in the trade. It follows a fixed logic, so that nothing is forgotten. Use this checklist to learn the principles — and always follow your workplace's specific procedures and your instructor's directions for the individual machine.

§Securing the machine — basic steps

- 05Check engine oil level (preferably cold engine).
§When the work is complete.
- 01Remove tools and check that everyone is away from the machine
- 02Put guards back in place
- 03Remove lock and mark in the correct order
- 04Report ready to the responsible person before the machine is started again
