Check yourself before a shift at the terminal
A correctly marked parking position
Most accidents could be avoided with a short check beforehand. Make it a habit to run through this list before you start a shift.
§Certificates and permits
- 01Do you have the certificates that today's machines require — and are they valid?
- 02Do you have access to the areas you need to work in?
- 03Are there tasks today that require proof you do not have?
§Equipment on the body.
- 01Safety shoes helmet and visible clothing in place?
- 02Hearing protection gloves and other protective equipment ready for the task?
- 03Is anything worn or defective so it should be replaced?
§Overview of the day
- 01Do you know what today's tasks are and who you are working with?
- 02Do you know today's particular risks — weather, heavy lifting, dangerous goods?
- 03Do you know where emergency stop, fire extinguisher and first aid are?
