Checklist: correct labeling before goods are sold
How to ensure hallmark and fineness are in place
Before a product leaves the workshop and is put up for sale, it is a good habit to go through a fixed checklist. It costs a few minutes and prevents a product from ending up at the customer without the marking the law requires.
§Before the sale
- 01Has the name stamp (responsibility stamp) been stamped so it is clear who is behind the product?
- 02Is the soldering mark stamped so the purity is indicated?
- 03Does it match other sources?
- 04Are the stamps clear and durable so they do not disappear with use?
§Documentation and control of regulations
- 01Do you know what requirements apply to exactly this type of goods and metal?
- 02Have you checked the current legislation and decree — not an old version?
- 03Do you know who the responsible authority is if questions arise?
Use the list as a routine rather than an exception. When marking becomes a fixed part of the finish on every item, you never forget it.
