Checklist: preparation for journeyman exam
How to arrive well prepared for the final exam
The journeyman's exam won't surprise you if you prepare systematically in good time. Use this checklist in the weeks leading up to the exam.
§Know the framework
- 01Have you read which models the task is typically drawn among?
- 02Do you know if your specialty gives 37 or 45 clock hours for the task?
- 03Do you know where and when the exam takes place and who the examiner is?
§Tools and materials
- 01Is your own tool cleaned, sharp and functional?
- 02Have you checked that you have all the tools you usually use for that type of task?
- 03Have measuring instruments (ring gauge, caliper) been checked for accuracy?
§Technique and time management
- 01Have you practiced the techniques that known model types typically require — measurement, plumbing, setting, finishing?
- 02Have you tried solving a similar task within the time frame of your specialty?
- 03Do you know in what order you usually work fastest and most safely?
