The school subject Turf Maintenance requires that you master fertilizer application and quantity calculation, and the competence goals require sustainable fertilization plans. Use this template to put the plan on paper, calculate the quantities correctly and document what was actually applied.

§Quantity calculation — step by step
Beregningen går altid fra ønsket næringsstofmængde til produktmængde: produktmængde = ønsket næringsstofmængde ÷ produktets indhold af næringsstoffet. Eksempel: Skal et areal have 2 kg kvælstof (N) pr. 1.000 m², og produktet er en NPK 20-3-8 (20 % N), er regnestykket 2 ÷ 0,20 = 10 kg produkt pr. 1.000 m². Gang derefter op med arealets faktiske størrelse.
- 011. Look up the product's declaration — N, P and K percent are shown on the bag/delivery note.
- 022. Calculate product amount based on desired N amount (formula above).
- 033. Double-check P and K: does more come with it than the soil sample suggests, so choose a different product.
- 044. Calibrate spreader: weigh sample amount, run known distance, and adjust setting to calculated dosing.
- 055. Apply in dry, calm weather and water afterwards if product requires it — always follow product instructions.
