Daily hygiene and self-control routine

A fixed structure for the hygiene checks that belong to a working day in the trade

Good hygiene is routine, not luck. This template shows a typical structure for the checks that belong to a working day — adapt it to your own workplace and its self-monitoring programme.

§At the start of the working day

  • 01Check connectors for corrosion, especially at exposed places like trailer coupling.
  • 02Check that work stations and tools are cleaned from yesterday
  • 03Wash hands and put on clean work clothes.
  • 04Look at the goods for date appearance and smell.

§During the day

Keep it clean while you work. Use separate tools and areas for different goods to avoid cross-contamination, and clean up continuously instead of letting it pile up.

§At closing time

  • 01Clean and disinfect work surfaces, machines and tools.
  • 02Check air filter and replace if needed.
  • 03Check temperatures one last time and fill in documentation
  • 04Put rubbish out and prepare for a clean start tomorrow.

When routine sits in your backbone, you don't need to think about it—it runs by itself and your workplace is always ready for both customers and inspections.
