A properly installed pane lasts for many years. The most important rule is that the glass must never rest directly against a hard edge.
§How the marking system reveals strengths and weaknesses
- 01Clean the frame so it is free of old residue and dirt.
- 02Place blocks so the pane is supported correctly and has clearance.
- 03Place the pane gently — use suction cups for heavy glass.
- 04Check and refill other fluids: coolant, brake, windshield and any power steering fluid.
- 05Secure and seal tightly all the way around.
- 06Wipe excess grout off before it hardens.
