How long should the frame pieces be cut, and how much batten should I use?
Answer: A frame is cut into four pieces with 45° mitre, and each piece is measured at long point along the outer edge of the moulding. Inside the rabbet should be slightly larger than glass and mat so it can go in without binding. The calculator works out the rabbet dimension, the two cutting lengths and how much moulding you need to buy, when each mitre costs a triangle of the moulding's width and a saw cut.
Falsmål = glassets mål + spillerum
Længde i lange spids = falsmål + 2 × (listens bredde − falsens bredde)
Liste = 2 × kortside + 2 × langside + 4 × listens bredde (en trekant pr. gering) + 8 savsnit, plus reserve
Synlig lysning = falsmål − 2 × falsens bredde
