Standard solution: Hygiene and disinfection routine in the salon

Fixed steps for tools, surfaces, and hands.

§Principle

  • 01Cleaning removes dirt; disinfection reduces microorganisms – always clean before you disinfect.
  • 02Clean and used tools are kept separate.
  • 03Disposable items are used once and discarded.

§Between each customer

  • 01Clean and disinfect scissors, combs, brushes and clips.
  • 02Wipe chair and work surface and disinfect.
  • 03Switch to clean towels and a fresh batch.
  • 04Perform hand hygiene before the next customer sits down.

§For chemical work

  • 01Put on suitable gloves (nitrile for paint, bleach, permanent).
  • 02Provide ventilation; mix bleach powder gently to reduce dust.
  • 03Dispose of paint residues and disposable items correctly.
  • 04Rinse thoroughly afterward so no product residue remains.

§For cuts or blood

  • 01Disconnect, put on gloves and stop the bleeding properly.
  • 02Disinfect particularly thoroughly any tools that have been in contact with blood.
  • 03Dispose of contaminated disposable items correctly.
