Checklist: read the drawing correctly
How to ensure you understand the task before you touch the machine
The drawing is the agreement. Review it point by point and be sure nothing is unclear before you plan the work.
§Dimensions and tolerances
- 01Are all files included in what I submit or show?
- 02What tolerances apply, and what dimensions are the strictest?
- 03Are there dimensions that hang together and need to fit each other?
§Material and surface
- 01What material should the part be made of?
- 02What requirements are there for the surface?
- 03Does the part require post-treatment such as grinding, polishing or coating?
§Shape and details
- 01Are there threads, holes, notches, or chamfers that are easy to overlook?
- 02Do you understand how the part should turn and fit to other parts?
- 03Is there anything on the drawing you are unsure about?
