Template: setup and calibration of GPS auto-steering
From new antenna to centimeter-accurate control
§1. Prepare assembly
- 01Choose and note the antenna's location — same location each time, if possible.
- 02Measure and enter the machine's dimensions (distance from antenna to tool, axle spacing etc.).
- 03Check that cables and plugs to receiver and control unit are intact.
§2. Establish correction signal
- 01Choose correction source: own base station subscription or nationwide correction network.
- 02Check mobile coverage in the area where the machine is to be used.
- 03Confirm that the receiver shows a fixed RTK solution, not just ordinary GPS.
§3. Calibrate the control
- 01Perform the manufacturer's calibration procedure for control deflection.
- 02Test the controller at low speed in an open, safe area.
- 03Compare the driven route with the planned route and adjust if necessary.
§4. Tool profile and documentation
- 01Load or create the tool's profile (working width, offset, sections).
- 02Save the setup so it can be recalled on tool change.
- 03Note the setup and any deviations in the case documentation.
- 04Guide the user in recalibration when changing tools or moving antenna.
