Template: questions to a potential apprenticeship

Prepare yourself before talking to a company

When a company considers taking you as an apprentice, they evaluate you—but you're also allowed to evaluate them. Come prepared with questions so you know what you're saying yes to.

§About training and tasks

  • 01What tasks will I be working with?
  • 02Who is my trainer in daily practice?
  • 03How do school periods and practice alternate in the course?
  • 04What courses and certificates do I get along the way?

§About wages and terms

  • 01Which collective agreement do you follow?
  • 02How does pay increase through the course?
  • 03What are the working hours, and are there shift teams?

§About the future

  • 01Is there a possibility of permanent employment after completed education?
  • 02Do you support further education later?

A company that answers your questions openly and properly is often also a good workplace to learn the trade.
