Quarantine and introduction
§1. Receipt
- 01Receive papers, provenance and any health and vaccination certificates.
- 02Assess the animal's general condition after transport.
- 03Offer rest, water and appropriate food.
§2. Quarantine
- 01Place the animal separate from the other animals.
- 02Use separate tools, or clean thoroughly between uses.
- 03Observe daily for disease signs and note in log.
- 04Call a veterinarian in case of doubt about health.
§3. Induction
- 01Introduce the animal gradually to species mates and a new environment.
- 02Monitor social behaviour and possible conflicts.
- 03Adapt food and enrichment to the new group.
- 04Complete the quarantine notes when the animal is fully airlocked.
