Quality control: windows and doors before delivery

Control form for use in workshop before elements are packed and sent to building site

Use this checklist as a final check in the workshop before a window or door is packaged and sent on to installation. Go through the items systematically for each element, and note any deviations before they are sent on.

§Before production leaves the workshop

  • 01Height width and diagonal dimensions match the survey/production drawing
  • 02Frame and sash are at right angles and without warp in the joints
  • 03No visible cracks, resin knots or scratches on visible surfaces
  • 04Tap-, zinc-, or notch joints are tight, glued, and without gaps
  • 05Fittings hinges and closures are installed correctly and work without binding
  • 06Sealing strips are intact, correctly installed and provide tight closure

§Surface treatment

  • 01Number of layers matches the specification
  • 02Drying time between coats is observed
  • 03No runners, dust or imperfections in the finished surface
  • 04Edges, bottom and mitre cuts are treated as thoroughly as visible surfaces

§Approval

  • 01Note date and inspector's name
  • 02Take a photo of the item if necessary as documentation
  • 03Sign the approval before the element is packed for shipping.
