Work process: from drawing to assembled element

The sequence in typical carpentry work

Use this procedure as a guiding thread. The order is important: each step builds on the previous one, and an early mistake will carry through to the rest.

§Step by step

  • 011. Read the drawing and measure on site
  • 022. Choose wood and material for the task
  • 033. Finish, chamfer and mill/plane items to dimension and profile
  • 044. Make assemblies: tenons, slots, dowels or lamellae
  • 055. Test-assemble without adhesive (dry fit) and check the angles
  • 066. Glue and clamp together, wipe off excess glue
  • 077. Sand and surface treatment (lacquer, oil or paint)
  • 088. Mount and adjust in place, seal and fasten
