Checklist: mandatory certificates and safety requirements
Keep track of what evidence you need before doing certain tasks
Before you take on a task with chemistry or work at height, quickly run through this list.
§Chemistry
- 01Does the product contain epoxy or isocyanates? Then it requires a legally required safety certificate.
- 02Have I read the safety data sheet for the product?
- 03Do I have the right respiratory protection and filter for the task?
- 04Do I know how the residue should be disposed of as hazardous waste?
§Work at height
- 01Should I erect or remove scaffolding above a certain height? Then it requires scaffolding training.
- 02Are ladders and lifts in order and used correctly?
- 03Is there fall protection where required?
§The dangerous surfaces
- 01Can the old paint contain lead?
- 02Can the substrate contain asbestos?
- 03Do I know who I should ask if I'm in doubt?
