Checklist: facade painting and weather conditions
Assess weather and ground before facade work begins
§Before you start
- 01Check weather forecast for the next 24-48 hours, not just today
- 02Confirm that the temperature is within the product's allowed application interval
- 03Assess wind strength especially when spraying and working at height
- 04Check and record core temperature for hot-smoked products.
- 05Avoid direct strong sun on a hot facade.
§Substrate inspection.
- 01Check/assess masonry for loose mortar or spalling
- 02Note cracks that need to be repaired before treatment
- 03Assess previous surface treatment — what type of paint was used?
- 04Check for algae, mold, or salt efflorescence that needs cleaning
