Checklist: facade painting and weather conditions

Assess weather and ground before facade work begins

§Before you start

  • 01Check weather forecast for the next 24-48 hours, not just today
  • 02Confirm that the temperature is within the product's allowed application interval
  • 03Assess wind strength especially when spraying and working at height
  • 04Check and record core temperature for hot-smoked products.
  • 05Avoid direct strong sun on a hot facade.

§Substrate inspection.

  • 01Check/assess masonry for loose mortar or spalling
  • 02Note cracks that need to be repaired before treatment
  • 03Assess previous surface treatment — what type of paint was used?
  • 04Check for algae, mold, or salt efflorescence that needs cleaning

  • 01Cordon off or sign if necessary so newly painted facade is not touched
