Checklist: is residential installation for you?
An honest self-check before you choose the education
It is better to find out if a trade suits you before you are in the middle of the basic course. Go through the checklist honestly - there is no right answer, but your answers tell you something about how well you match.

- 01Do I like working with my hands and seeing a finished result?
- 02Do I have patience for precise, detailed work where it has to be right?
- 03Do I thrive with getting up and moving rather than sitting still?
- 04Am I okay with working with machines, sharp tools and glue?
- 05Do I like customer contact and advising on materials and colours?
§Check practical matters
- 01Do I meet the access requirement (02 in Danish and mathematics) - or do I have an apprenticeship agreement?
- 02Am I willing to relocate or commute after an apprenticeship?
- 03Have I investigated which of the three specializations appeals to me most?
- 04Have I visited a school or workshop and seen the trade up close?
If you answered yes to most practical questions and were fired up by the self-test, that is a good sign. If you are in doubt, book a talk with the school's guidance service — it does not commit you to anything.
