How many layers and how many metres of fabric should I lay up for the order?
Answer: In the cutting room, the fabric is laid in layers under the marker and all layers are cut at once. If the marker is four pieces (e.g. four sizes), each layer gives four pieces. Number of layers is the order divided by pieces per marker, and if there are more layers than the knife can cut, they're divided into several lay-ups. Each layer must also have an end allowance so the layers can be straightened. The calculator finds layers, lay-ups and total fabric consumption.
Lag = ordre ÷ styk pr. markering, rundet op
Oplæg = lag ÷ højst antal lag pr. oplæg, rundet op
Stof = lag × (markeringens længde + endetillæg)
Gar ordren ikke op, skaeres der et par styk ekstra i det sidste lag

Antal lag = ordre ÷ styk pr. markering. Dobbelt så mange styk i markeringen giver halvt så mange lag, men markeringen bliver næsten dobbelt så lang.
Antal lag gange styk pr. markering skal være mindst ordren.
