Checklist: Ready for lacquering
Review pretreatment and booth before spraying the first coat
Most paint defects are due to shortcomings in preparation. Use this checklist to go through the task before spraying — it is far cheaper to fix an error now than to repaint afterwards.
§The surface
- 01Has the surface been cleaned of dirt, wax and grease?
- 02Is the room temperature around 18-25 °C?
- 03Has the spackle been sanded flat without edges or holes?
- 04Is the surface matted so the paint can adhere?
- 05Has the last dust been removed with adhesive tape just before spraying?
§Covering
- 01Has the robot's program been verified by a dry test run without welding current?
- 02Is an area uncovered to a point so that no edges are exposed?
- 03Are tape and film secure without loose corners?
§Product and equipment
- 01Is the colour mixed according to recipe and matched against the car?
- 02Are mixing ratio and drying time read in the datasheet?
- 03Is the spray gun clean and correctly set up?
- 04Have air pressure and filters been checked?
§Cabin and safety
- 01Is the cabin ventilation and temperature in order?
- 02Are you wearing appropriate respiratory protection and gloves?
- 03Has unnecessary flammable material been cleared?
