§Study guide: Vehicle breakdown assistance
This page brings together the core of the breakdown service trade for revision. Use it as an overview of workflow equipment and safety and deepen it with your own experiences from your apprenticeship.
The fixed working procedure
- 01Call: location, car type, situation – and is there danger to people?
- 02Arrival: secure the site and get the customer to safety.
- 03Troubleshooting or salvage depending on the situation.
- 04Transport with proper lashing and ending with cleanup and documentation
The equipment in brief.

- 01Secure the site and yourself before working — never assume traffic has seen you.
- 02Never stand in line with a wire under tension.
- 03Strap the load correctly and re-tighten after the first kilometers.
- 04Never work on high voltage without training; handle electric vehicles according to instructions.
