Checklist: Preparation and equipment check at shift start
Start your shift knowing the car and equipment are in order
§1. Vehicle
- 01Check tire pressure and tread depth on all wheels, including spare if applicable
- 02Check lights, indicators and hazard warning lights.
- 03Check fuel/charge level, coolant, and windshield washer fluid
- 04Look for visible damage or leaks under the vehicle.
§2. Salvage and safety equipment
- 01Check cable, wire and chain for wear, kinks or corrosion.
- 02Check lashing straps and belts for cracks and damage
- 03Make sure that warning triangle, cones and reflective clothing are on board.
- 04Check lights, wipers and horn.
§3. Technical equipment
- 01Check battery level on first aid equipment (booster) and lights
- 02Check continuously that tiles are flush and level; avoid cavities in surface.
- 03Make sure that the compressor and tyre repair kit are functional.
- 04Bring hand tools and gloves for minor repairs.
§4. Documentation
- 01Note any deficiencies or damage and report them to the workshop/colleague.
- 02Sign for the equipment check if your company uses a logbook or app.
