The fixed steps in a car repair task

§1. Call and preparation

  • 01Get the location, car type, and situation clarified.
  • 02Assess whether there is danger to people (call emergency services if necessary).
  • 03Take the right equipment based on the task.

§2. Arrival and securing

  • 01Position your vehicle as a shield with hazard lights.
  • 02Mark according to speed and conditions.
  • 03Get the customer to safety, preferably behind the guardrail.

§3. Troubleshooting or salvage

  • 01Assess whether the car can be repaired on site.
  • 02Choose the right salvage method if it should be included.
  • 03Account for vehicle type (four-wheel drive, automatic, electric).

§4. Transport and completion

  • 01Strap the car safely and check the strapping.
  • 02Make sure that the customer gets on.
  • 03Clean up, remove markings and document the task.
