Checklist: Safe rigging and lifting
Before heavy loads are lifted
§Before the lift
- 01Is the load weight known and has the gear been chosen accordingly?
- 02Is the lifting gear checked for damage and wear?
- 03Is the marking (maximum load) clear and readable?
- 04Is the strap angle under control so the load is distributed correctly?
§During the lift.
- 01Has hand signalling or radio communication with the crane operator been agreed?
- 02Is the lift path clear of persons and from under it?
- 03Does the attachment hold the load fast when it has just been lifted from the ground (check before full height)?
- 04Does the driver have the right certificate for the machine or crane?
§After the lift
- 01Is the load set down safely and stably?
- 02Is the lifting gear removed and stored correctly?
- 03Have any damage to equipment been noted so it can be discarded in time?
