- 01Choose the right base layer (e.g. stable gravel).
- 02Choose compression equipment based on material and depth.
- 03Check that bottom is free from soft fill and waste
§Compress in thin layers
- 01Fill only a thin layer at a time.
- 02Compress the layer thoroughly before adding more.
- 03Keep the correct humidity – too dry or too wet compresses poorly.

- 02Assess that the surface is firm and level.
