Rules and standards change, also for welders. This article collects the news from 2025 and 2026 with date and source. It will be updated when there is news. Last reviewed 6 October 2026.
The Danish Working Environment Authority repealed 49 guidance notes on 1 June 2025, including «Svejsning, skæring mv. i metal» (welding, cutting etc. in metal). The knowledge is now to be found in tools and examples on at.dk. A good all-round reference is BFA Industri's guide «Svejsning — viden, værktøjer og gode råd» (welding — knowledge, tools and good advice) from September 2023.
ISO 14732 is about the qualification of operators for mechanised and automatic welding, e.g. with a robot. The new edition, ISO 14732:2025, was published in June 2025.
Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 replaces the old Construction Products Regulation and applies from 8 January 2026. It covers CE marking of construction products, e.g. load-bearing steel structures according to EN 1090.
BEK no. 582/2026 entered into force on 27 June 2026. Welding fumes are still in Annex 2, and the training requirement (the «§17 course») is in § 16. The annex also states clearly: polishing is not covered.
BEK no. 613/2026 on limit values entered into force on 1 July 2026. Chromium(VI) compounds have the limit value 0.00025 mg/m³; in the executive order the value is marked with the year 2025.
BEK no. 83/2026 applies to the blacksmith programme from 1 August 2026. In the main programme the student is now called an apprentice, and the objectives, certificates and the exam are in the training regulations.
The Danish Working Environment Authority issued guidance with new numbers: VEJ 10134/2026 on chemicals and biology and VEJ 10133/2026 on the ergonomic working environment. The rule that filtering respirators may be used for no more than three hours a day is still there.
ISO is working on combining ISO 9606-1 to -5 into one standard. As of 6 October 2026 it is still a draft (ISO/DIS 9606, stage 40.60). Until it is adopted, DS/EN ISO 9606-1 applies to welding in steel.
