Choose method and considerations based on the surface
§General principle
Different floors tolerate different treatment. A porous or water-sensitive floor is damaged by too much water while a robust floor tolerates more. Choose the method based on the substrate and use damp rather than wet cleaning if you are in doubt.

| Concrete / industrial floor | Robust; often machine cleaning on larger areas |
