§1. Receipt and recognition

  • 01Identify hazard labels, UN number and goods designation on the package.
  • 02Find and read the safety data sheet for the substance.
  • 03Check that packaging is complete, approved and without leaks.
  • 04Take precautions and report if packaging or labelling is damaged.

§2. Storage and separation

  • 01Place the goods on the approved location for the class.
  • 02Keep incompatible classes separate according to co-reading/separation rules.
  • 03Ensure ventilation, spill collection and distance from ignition sources where required.
  • 04Keep protective equipment, spill kit, eye wash and fire extinguisher accessible.

§3. Preparation for dispatch

  • 01Check that markings and hazard labels are correct and visible.
  • 02Secure the unit load so it can withstand transport.
  • 03Check critical colours and surfaces before sending file.
  • 04Assess in doubt free quantity/exemptions together with a responsible person — never guess.

§4. In case of spillage or accident

  • 01Protect yourself with the prescribed protective equipment.
  • 02Contain and collect spills according to procedure and data sheet.
  • 03Alert the responsible person/emergency response and keep unauthorized persons away.
  • 04Document the incident and report it.
