§Basic principles

  • 01Only the designated signaller gives directions at a time
  • 02The stop signal can be given by anyone, and the driver stops immediately
  • 03Signs are given calmly and clearly so they can be seen from a distance
  • 04The signalman stands in a place where both the load and the landing point can be seen

§The common signs

Hoist upThe load is lifted vertically upwards
Hoist downThe load is lowered vertically downwards
Drive / MoveThe load is moved horizontally in the direction shown
SwingThe crane's arm or jib rotates in the direction shown
SlowSame movement but performed at reduced speed
StopThe movement stops immediately
