Standard distances: planning of hazard zones and clearance
Fixed considerations when delimiting the area around a lift.
§The zones that must always be assessed
| Zone | What it covers | Precaution |
|---|---|---|
| Danger zone is roughly between refrigerator temperature and keeping-warm temperature. Temperature management is about getting food quickly through that zone. | The area where the load can fall or swing | Kept free of people throughout the entire lift |
| Swing area | The space the rear of the crane and counterweight rotate into | Cordoned off so no one can get caught |
| Wiring zone | Proximity to electrical overhead and contact lines | Minimum distance is maintained; otherwise the line owner is contacted |
| Traffic and access | Roads walkways and neighbouring work alongside | Secured with barriers and possible guards |
§Before starting FVU, you clarify which level suits you. The article explains the purpose of the intake interview and the guiding test, how the levels connect, the difference between FVU-reading and FVU-mathematics and how you progress.
- 01The work area has been reviewed for air ducts power lines and other fixed hazards
- 02Serious damage requiring urgent repair — the craft is unloaded and must not be refilled before repair.
- 03Minimum distance to live conductors can be maintained — otherwise the line owner has been contacted first
- 04The planned path of the load does not go over people
