Checklist: Evacuation in fire

§Warn and alert

• 01Activate the fire alarm or shout and warn those around you
• 02Call 1-1-2: what's burning, where, and are there people in danger
• 03Help those who have difficulty getting out themselves

§Exit safely

• 01Leave the building by the nearest safe escape route — never use the elevator
• 02Stay low under the smoke
• 03Feel on closed doors before opening — if they are warm, leave them alone
• 04Close doors behind you to limit smoke and fire
• 05Never go between wagons before you know they are secured against movement.

§On the assembly site

• 01Gather at the agreed assembly point at a safe distance
• 02Count up whether everyone got out
• 03Report missing persons immediately to the rescue service
• 04Stay at the assembly point until instructed otherwise
