Get a good start in restructuring the machine park and operations on site
§Map the machinery fleet
- 01What machines under approximately 2.5 tonnes can be replaced with electric-powered models?
- 02What heavy machines do not yet exist as electric-powered alternatives?
- 03Can biodiesel be used for machines that cannot yet be electrified?
§Plan the cuts according to desired cuts
- 01Is there sufficient electrical capacity on site to charge multiple machines at once?
- 02Where are charging stations or mobile battery packs most appropriately placed?
- 03Is there a plan for charging during breaks and outside working hours?
§Hand tools and minor equipment
- 01Can petrol- or pneumatic-powered hand tools be replaced with battery-powered?
- 02Are heat sources on site electrical or biofuel rather than oil burners?
§Documentation
- 01Record fuel and consumption for each machine on site
- 02Note what proportion of machine hours are electric-powered
- 03Save documentation if the project is subject to fossil-free operations requirements
