Inspection of inventory, shelf life and cold chain at shift start
Medication inspection is one of the tasks that is easy to rush when the shift starts busy — but it is also one of the inspections where a forgotten detail can have consequences in an acute situation. Use the checklist below systematically at each shift start.
§General inspection
- 01Are all images correctly embedded or supplied?
- 02Is there medicine expiring within the next 30 days – and should it be replaced now?
- 03Have temperature-sensitive medicines been stored at the correct temperature since the last check?
- 04Is the packaging intact with no signs of damage or contamination?

§For shortcomings or deviations
