A(8) for hand-arm or whole body
Enter each machine you use on a day, its vibration value from the user manual, and how long you run it. The calculator adds them up and normalises to an 8-hour day.
A(8) · hand-arm
0.00 m/s²
A vibration value has not yet been entered. It is in the machine's manual — the calculator does not guess it for you.
Gloves don't help with this
There are vibration-damping gloves, but they only work on high frequencies and not on the low ones that cause white finger. What works is a machine that vibrates less, shorter periods at a time, and a firm grip without squeezing harder than necessary.
A(8) = √( Σ aᵢ² · tᵢ / T₀ )
T₀ = 8 hours · aᵢ = m/s² from the datasheet · tᵢ = service life
The result is indicative and an aid tool for estimates and learning. It does not replace design, applicable standards and legislation or a qualified professional's specific assessment. Always check against the source (The Vibration Regulation) and actual conditions on the task. See sources & reservations.
