Same house, two registers

1 / 3

BBR says 116 m² built-up area. GeoDanmark's footprint of the same house is 149.59 m², calculated from the polygon's 16 corners.

Why they differ

2 / 3

GeoDanmark draws the building along the roof edge as seen from the air, so the roof overhang is included. BBR's built-up area is the house's footprint on the plot. The difference is 33.59 m²: the footprint is about 29% larger.

Which figure to use

3 / 3

For roof, gutters and rainwater, the footprint is the right figure. For plinth, masonry and foundation, BBR's built-up area is closest. Two sources that disagree are not an error — they answer different questions.
