“The register says null”
The asbestos field in BBR (the Danish building register) is empty on almost every house. That does not mean the house is free of asbestos — only that nobody has written anything.

An empty field is not a no
BBR has a field for asbestos. On most buildings it says nothing: null, “not registered in BBR”. In Silkeborg Municipality, 137 detached single-family houses from 1960 are registered with a roof of “fibre cement including asbestos”. In all 100 that the building search shows on its first page, the asbestos field is empty.

What do you do on site?
A fibre cement roof from that time can contain asbestos, whatever the register says. Treat the material as if it contains asbestos until a sample has shown otherwise: no sanding, no high-pressure washing, and the work is planned as asbestos work. The empty field is a risk you have to spot, not a clearance.
What the codes mean
The field has code 1–4 when asbestos is registered, and code 5 when the building is registered free of it. In Silkeborg Municipality, 0 detached single-family houses have code 5. So none is registered free of asbestos — and almost none with it.
