Inrush factor and peak current at start
Quantify the starting current (inrush) when a motor starts: I_start ≈ I_nominal × k. The inrush factor k is your own input — typically 5–8 for direct-on-line starting (DOL), 2–3 with a soft starter. Indicative figures; check the voltage drop during starting separately against DS/HD 60364-5-52.
