Control form: Screen work station setup
Review of CAD workstation according to screen rules
Fill in the form sitting at your workplace. Answer Yes/No to each point—each No gets an action a responsible person and a deadline. Take the workplace health representative with you if multiple points fail or if you already have problems.
§1. Screen and visibility conditions
- 01The top of the screen is around eye level or slightly below.
- 02Distance to the screen is about an arm's length.
- 03The main screen stands directly in front of you (also with two screens).
- 04The direction of vision is parallel to the window — no backlighting or reflections on the screen.
- 05Text and models can be read without leaning forward or squinting your eyes.
§2. Table, chair and equipment
- 01The chair is adjusted: feet on floor, lumbar support, forearms relaxed.
- 02Table height is appropriate — or the adjustable table is actually used to change position.
- 03There is a separate keyboard and mouse (laptop alone is not enough for permanent CAD work).
- 04The mouse can be operated close to the body without raising the shoulder.
- 05There is room to support the forearms in front of the keyboard.
§3. Habits and variation
- 01Screen work is regularly interrupted by other work or breaks.
- 02Shortcut keys, mouse close to body, variation
- 03The eyes regularly shift focus to something distant.
- 04Aches (neck, shoulders, forearm, eyes) are reported to manager or occupational health representative.
- 05For regular home work: the home workplace is reviewed with the same scheme.
§4. Rights
- 01You know your right to eye and vision examination paid by the employer.
- 02Need for screen glasses is clarified — the employer must provide them free of charge to you.
- 03You know who the occupational health representative is at your workplace.
