Checklist: safety at plastic machine
The fixed checks you perform before and while working with a hot, pressure-bearing machine
Use this list each time you work at a plastic machine. It protects against the trade's two major hazards: heat and moving parts.
§Before you start
- 01Are guards and safety gates in place and working?
- 02Are there no loose parts or tools near moving zones?
- 03Is extraction on?
§Protective equipment
- 01Suitable gloves with hot parts and material?
- 02Eye protection on?
- 03Hearing protection if the production is noisy?
§Upon start-up material change and cleaning
- 01Keep distance — hot plastic can spray out
- 02Don't stand in the spray direction
- 03Be extra careful where hot zones are open
In case of error or something abnormal: stop the machine safely and check before you continue.
