§Preparation
- 01PLACEHOLDER_42
- 02Whip barber soap/cream into a thick, creamy foam with a brush.
- 03Apply foam in circular motions so the hairs stand up from the skin.
- 04Check that the barber's knife is sharp, clean and properly disinfected/sterilized.
§During shaving.
- 01Keep the skin tight with the free hand before each stroke.
- 02Shave the first pass with the direction of hair growth.
- 03Hold the blade at approximately 30 degrees angle – never press the knife down into the skin.
- 04Work with short, controlled strokes around the neck, jawline and ears.
- 05Ask the customer to turn/lift their head at difficult areas so the skin stretches correctly.
§After treatment
- 01Rinse the skin with lukewarm water to remove soap residue.
- 02Apply a cold compress pack to close the pores.
- 03Apply a mild aftershave balm rather than an alcohol-based product.
- 04Wipe blade and handle thoroughly and dispose of/change blade according to salon hygiene routine.
