The journeyman's test completes the education as a technical insulator. Here are the rules from the education regulations that apply from 1 August 2026: the written case assignment, the oral exam, the 24-hour practical task and the weighting 1/6, 1/6 and 4/6.
Introduction
The journeyman's test is held in the last school period. To sit it, you must have passed all subjects and have a final statement on in-company training from your company. The rules are in the education regulations for technical insulators, which apply from 1 August 2026.
Theoretical part
- 01You write a case assignment within one week. The assignment is allocated by drawing lots.
- 02Then there is an oral exam of 30 minutes including deliberation.
- 03For the oral exam you may use sketches and models and demonstrate techniques.
- 04You get one grade for the case and one grade for the presentation.
Practical part
You complete a practical task within 24 hours, spread over at least three days. You get one grade for the practical part.
